Gold fever strikes! Did you know that Tankavaara in North Sodankylä is home for real gold prospecting and the only international Gold Museum in the world? In this activity, Gold Museum’s guide introduces you to the 150 years of Lapland’s gold prospecting history. You will learn about the gold rushes of Lapland and its magical gold discoveries. Try gold panning and keep the treasures you find!
Afterwards, possibility to immerge into the exhibitions individually. The Gold Museum’s international exhibition Golden World is a round-the-world journey through the history of gold prospecting and the relationship between gold and humankind. Maybe you will find gold at your home too? Museum guides available in 28 languages!
