Experience Sodankylä-Sompio in Summer
In Sodankylä-Sompio you can experience the perfect peace of nature and the incredibly bright midnight sun.Pyhä-Nattanen is ideal for day hikers
The magnificent Pyhä-Nattanen is one of Sompio’s most famous fells. On this hike you can enjoy the stunning beauty of Sompio’s nature.
Pyhä-Nattanen is located in the Sompio Strict Nature Reserve and from the top you can admire the nightless night. There are six Nattastunturi with sharp summits in total, but according to the park’s rules, only two of them – Pyhä-Nattanen and Terävä-Nattanen – are available to hikers. The glaciation did not make the Nattanen fells round like the others, because they are hard, red granite.
A round trip to Pyhä-Nattanen is 7 km long. The terrain is challenging and hiking or trekking boots are necessary. Please note, that in the Sompio Strict Nature Reserve you can hike only at the marked trails.
The road to Pyhä-Nattanen trail starting point is not accessible at winter.
The video tells a story of Nattas fells. The video is produced in Lapland Story Villages -project. Read more from Visit Sodankylä -website.
