\u00c1ila Hideaway is currently being developed in Sodankyl\u00e4 as a new kind of off\u2011grid, technology\u2011free experience destination. The first phase is taking shape in the heart of Lapland\u2019s nature, on a quiet riverbank. This site will become the first realized part of a broader vision: creating an entire land of digital peace<\/em> in Sodankyl\u00e4.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Guests stay in small log cabins, each with its own private sauna and peaceful yard. At \u00c1ila, guests spend a full 24 hours without electricity, digital devices, or any modern technology. \u00c1ila offers an authentic, guided environment where life becomes simpler and people can return to a way of being that isn\u2019t driven by constant reaction. There is no pre\u2011built entertainment program. Instead, guests take part in meaningful, traditional tasks \u2014 the same kinds of activities people have practiced in the wilderness for centuries. In \u00c1ila, the warmth of the cabin and sauna comes from wood that the guest has chopped and carried themselves. Water is drawn from an ice hole the guest has made in the frozen river.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Many people find calm in nature by hiking or spending time in remote areas. Not everyone, however, has the opportunity, skills, or confidence to do so. \u00c1ila makes this experience accessible to more people. \u00c1ila provides an authentic environment without electricity, internet, or technology \u2014 just like the wilderness \u2014 but with the difference that the experience takes place in safe, supervised, and guided conditions.
